ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION RESOURCES

Green Teacher Magazine

Green Teacher is a non-profit organization which publishes resources to help educators, both inside and outside of schools, to promote global and environmental awareness among young people from elementary through high school.

The organization’s primary activity is the publication of Green Teacher, a quarterly magazine of teaching ideas from successful “green” educators. Each issue of Green Teacher offers perspectives on the role of education in creating a sustainable future, practical cross-curricular activities for various grade levels, and reviews of the latest teaching resources.

Each magazine contains about fifty pages of articles and activities containing:
- Ideas for rethinking education in light of environmental and global challenges.
 - Practical articles and ready-to-use activities for various age levels from 6-18.
 - Resource reviews: evaluations of dozens of new books, kits, games and other green resources.

With thousands of French-language schools in Canada and a burgeoning Hispanic school population in the United States, there is a real need for more educational materials for North America's other two languages. With the assistance of Green Teacher's multilingual readership and many volunteers from around the world, many articles from Green Teacher Magazine have now been translated and are available online free to download.  Please see Green Teacher en français and Green Teacher en español.
